Visual identity and Book design
Client: Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts

Our office developed an event identity that was unfolded on numerous media (poster design, program booklet, postcard, social media applications) for the symposium 'image/con/text. Complementary testimonies in documentary discourse'.
The two-day symposium at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Faculty of Design and Media, focused on current works that aim to mix the spheres of the readable and the visible. This thematic focus also served as inspiration for the design, in which text overlays "empty" layout surfaces and image compositions mix with these very same text surfaces. The unique combination of silver and apricot serves as a signal and independent design element within the identity.
Following the symposium, a comprehensive publication with image essays, interviews and text contributions was published by Reimer Verlag (with texts in German and English 352 pages, 168 illustrations).
The anthology was produced in close collaboration with the [IMAGE MATTERS] team–consisting of Prof. Dr. Karen Fromm, Sophia Greiff and Anna Stemmler as well as Malte Radtki. All four are currently involved in teaching and/or research in the photojournalism and documentary photography program at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
